October 28 New Zealand Wool Auction Price Trends

This auction on the North and South Island has a good momentum compared to the last time. The trade-weighted index of major currencies fell by 1.45%, which was in short supply, resulting in a turnover rate of 95%.

Fine merino wool prices rose 3-9%, but 19.5-23.5 micron wool prices fell 1.5-4%; all fine-bred hybrid wool prices rose 2-8%; thick carpet wool and shearing prices rose 1 -5%; zero hair price increase of 3-6%.

Compared with the auction on September 30th, the price of merino wool rose 1.5-8%, the price of coarse wool increased the most; the price of medium fine hair rose 1-4%; the price of hybrid hair type rose the most, especially fine Crossbred hair and shearing hair rose by 7-12%; demand for coarse-bristle wool and shearing hair was strong, and the price rose by 10-12.5%; zero hair price rose by 6-13%.

Buyers from China, Australia, and India dominated the auction market, and buyers from the Middle East, Western Europe, and the United Kingdom also provided support.
