Analysis of the prospect of China's glass fiber industry (I)

At present, China's glass fiber industry is in a situation of becoming bigger and stronger. Compared with developed countries, China's glass fiber industry is still not strong. This is mainly reflected in the fact that the overall technical level is still different from that of advanced countries. There are many technical introductions and imitations, and there are few independent intellectual property rights. The technical level is very different. Most enterprises have relatively low technical equipment and low overall production efficiency. There are many medium and low-end products. Some high-end products still need to be imported. The development of new products is not strong. The overall product quality needs to be improved. Although we have cost advantages, we have cost advantages. Comprehensive technology, equipment, management, management, and international competitiveness are not strong. China's glass fiber industry must seize the current opportunities and take the road from big to strong.

Better development of glass fiber reinforced substrates is one of the key factors for China's glass fiber industry to become stronger and stronger. This is determined by the characteristics of glass fiber and market demand:

1. As an industrial material, glass fiber determines its seldom direct use. Its industrialization and development are mainly used as plastic reinforced substrates. As the market demand changes, glass fiber is also used to enhance some other material. So in a sense, fiberglass is a reinforcing substrate. That is to say, the glass fiber reinforced substrate has developed well, and the entire glass fiber industry has developed. Synthetic polymer materials - the industrialization of plastics is a stage sign of the development of modern industrial materials, and is developing towards more and better performance polymer materials. With glass fiber reinforced plastics, plastics can be modified to improve their properties and expand their applications, especially in terms of improved mechanical properties, such as polypropylene (PP) as a common plastic, which can be enhanced by glass fiber. Engineering plastics are used.

About 80% of glass fiber is used to enhance polymer materials in various forms. In resin substrate composites, some chemical fibers such as natural fibers, carbon fibers and aramid fibers are also being developed as reinforcing substrates, but glass fibers still occupy an absolute advantage of 85%. This has become the focus of development of glass fiber reinforced substrates.

2. Composite materials, as a symbol of the new stage of modern industrial materials development, are currently developing rapidly. On the one hand, this development is an increase in quantity and variety, and on the other hand, an increase in performance requirements. The continuous development of China's national economy for many years has gradually raised the requirements for higher development quality. Therefore, the growth rate of composite materials in China has been the highest in the world in recent years. This increases the requirements for glass reinforced substrates from a demand perspective.

The key requirements for improving the performance of glass fiber reinforced substrates are: higher specific strength, better processability (suitable for closed mold, large-scale production and finer products, etc.), better environmental protection, better Functionality (electricity, light, intelligence, etc.), better heat resistance, etc. The development of composite materials is driving the development of glass fiber reinforced substrates.

In a certain sense, the development of glass fiber reinforced substrates is the main way to improve the development of China's glass fiber industry.

The development of composite materials also requires a better development of glass fiber reinforced substrates. First, a relatively broad look at the development of composites related to glass fiber to emphasize the responsibility of the glass fiber industry to promote the development of these composite materials.

1. For the three fiberglass mainstream application industries of FRSP, FRTP and glass fiber-based CCL, the domestic total demand for glass fiber has exceeded 750,000 tons. This is the first requirement that our fiberglass industry needs to meet, not only to meet current needs, but also to meet the needs of both quantity and quality in their development.

2. Reinforce and modify elastomers such as glass fiber reinforced rubber and PVC, acrylate, polyurethane, silicone rubber, and polytetrafluoroethylene for heat resistance, moisture resistance, weather resistance, wear resistance, etc. The amount of use is constantly expanding and increasing.

3. The demand for glass fiber reinforced substrates in the construction field is wide. With the requirements of energy saving, safety and aesthetics of buildings, new lightweight building materials are being used more and more. Some of the glass-reinforced materials are increasingly being used due to their performance advantages. In addition to FRP products, there are mainly:

1 Modified asphalt waterproof material with glass fiber felt and fabric as reinforcement. In the United States, the annual use of glass fiber-based asphalt shingles is about 3 billion square meters, and it is necessary to use 1/3 of its glass fiber production. China's waterproof materials are also vigorously promoting product structure adjustment, planning to make the proportion of new waterproof materials from the current 50 % is adjusted to about 85% in 2010, among which modified asphalt tile products with glass fiber felt as the carcass, the annual construction area is estimated to be 2.7% of the entire waterproof material from 2005 to 17 million square meters, increasing to 2010. 50 million square meters, accounting for 6% of the entire waterproof material. In addition, in the waterproof membrane and waterproof construction, we also use a lot of fiberglass felt, fabric, and mixed fabric with polyester fiber.

2 glass fiber reinforced gypsum products. In developed countries, the application of gypsum board has been extremely extensive. The annual consumption in the United States has exceeded 3 billion square meters, and the per capita consumption has reached 10 square meters. The average consumption of gypsum board per square meter of building is about 4 square meters. More than 10% of the gypsum board is reinforced with glass fiber inner mixing or glass fiber felt and cloth paper. This can significantly increase the strength and fire resistance of the gypsum board, and this trend is rapidly expanding. China's gypsum reserves are abundant, and the utilization of waste sulphur desulfurization gypsum in power plants has expanded the resources of gypsum. The annual output of gypsum board in China has reached nearly 1 billion square meters. Recently, many places are still expanding and increasing production, so the potential market demand for glass fiber reinforced gypsum products is very large.
3 enhanced magnesite materials. China's magnesite reserves have been proven to be more than 3 billion tons, ranking first in the world. The glass fiber reinforced magnesium oxychloride cement material can be made into a glass magnesium decorative board. The modified magnesium oxychloride cement is used as the cementing material, the medium alkali or alkali-free glass fiber cloth is used as the reinforcing material, and the air duct made of the insulating polystyrene foam or the like is used as the core material. Compared with the iron duct, it has the advantages of long life, light weight, low air leakage rate, low noise, low power consumption and good fire resistance. In the first three or four years, due to the chaos of material selection and production, the use of magnesite building materials for walls or hanging panels was ordered by the National Development and Reform Commission. With the popularization of air conditioning ventilation and the strengthening of magnesite industry management, the improvement of production technology, and the revision and strictness of product standards, the National Development and Reform Commission has cancelled such products at the end of 2005.
