Main types of garnet

Garnet, also known as the purple tooth, has many kinds of primary deposits, mainly produced in many magmatic rocks or metamorphic rocks. Most gem-quality garnets are found in alluvial sands. Purple tooth is a garnet family mineral, a complex silicate mineral (island silicate), usually represented by A3B2[SiO4]3. Wherein A represents a divalent cation such as Ca2+, Mg2+, Fe2+, or Mn2+, and B represents a trivalent cation such as Al3+, Fe3+, or Cr3+. The crystal form is a rhombohedral dodecahedron, a tetragonal octahedron or a polymorphic shape of the two. The aggregate is granular or massive. The color of garnet is affected by ingredients and presents a variety of colors, including red 'pink' purple red 'orange red'; yellow series including yellow 'orange' dense yellow 'brown yellow; green series including emerald 'olive green' yellow green. The crystal surface shows the luster of the glass, the radiance of the ruthenium, and the gloss of the fracture. Transparent to translucent. Homogeneous, not pleochroic, no birefringence. Garnet can be divided into two series, six main varieties: iron-aluminum garnet series (magnesium aluminum garnet, iron-aluminum garnet, manganese aluminum garnet) and calcium iron garnet series (calcium chrome garnet, calcium aluminum garnet) , calcium iron garnet).
