Source and origin of palladium

Palladium

Palladium, the name of Palladium, comes from the newly discovered sun asteroid Pallas-Athena in 1802, a planet that commemorates the ancient Greek mythology, the goddess Athena, with the highest wisdom and the finest craftsmanship. In 1803, British chemist and physicist Wollaston successfully separated palladium from crude platinum. Palladium was born and began to have its own name, Palladium.

Palladium is a platinum group precious metal element. Precious metals are precious metals in the non-ferrous metals, which have high density, low yield and high price. They mainly refer to 8 kinds of gold, silver and platinum group metals (钌Ru, 铑Rh, palladium Pd, 锇Os, 铱Ir, platinum Pt). Metallic elements, of which the world's most expensive white precious metal, is worth more than platinum. Most of these metals have beautiful colors and are often used to make jewelry and valuable souvenirs.

As one of the platinum group noble metals, palladium is extremely rare, and the crust content is 30 times less than that of gold. At present, only a few countries and regions such as Russia, South Africa and North America produce. In 2008, global palladium production was similar to platinum, only 9% of gold. Palladium and platinum, gold and silver are the trading varieties of international precious metals spot and futures. They are a non-renewable scarce resource and are of great value in the international market.
